Hosted by the Texas Region Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) All street-legal vehicles are welcome.
A road rally is a competition, not of speed, but of skill in being observant and following the written road course instructions. Usually, the competitors consist of a driver and a person in the passenger seat acting as a navigator. The driver pays attention to traffic and to obeying traffic laws while following the turn-by-turn verbal instructions given by the navigator.
Fee: $30 (non-SCCA members) per vehicle, if pre-registering. Add $5 late-fee on the day of the event. To save yourself $5 (and so we'll know about how many Route Books to print) you can preregister for the rally (and see all the details about it) at MSReg.com (http://msreg.com/srrr19)
Pre-registration highly encouraged
The 2019 Sweetheart Ride Road Rally will be held on Sunday afternoon March 31, 2019. It will be about an 80+ mile drive on some interesting scenic roads in Parker and Wise Counties, Texas (north-west of Fort Worth).
Most of the rally is about solving puzzles using signs and objects found along the rally route. There will never be more than one puzzle active at a time. There are also several places where a travel speed will be prescribed.
On site check in and registration will be held from 11pm to noon at David Beard's Catfish & Seafood Restaurant, 1303 NW Parkway, Azle, TX. Please grab a bite of lunch there to fortify yourself for a fun drive in the country.
The rally will end at El Paseo Mexican Restaurant, 100 W Main St, Azle, TX. Please feel free to enjoy dinner there in their "back room" as you wait for the rally results to be announced. The first car should finish around 5pm and the awards should be announced around 6pm.
