The parade takes place on West Davis Street in Oak Cliff.
All Jaguar vehicles are eligible, any model or year of manufacture. Coupes or Convertibles. No restrictions other than that the Jaguar must be presentable and reflect well on the Club.
Last year, this parade was HUGE! Thousands of spectators lined the parade route screaming for us to throw beads. Inclement weather may be cause for parade cancellation/postponement.
Detailed information will only be emailed to those who register their interest with Clark Kirby by Feb. 28th: email@example.com
There is a required fee of $10 per car, payable to JOANT. This fee will reimburse JOANT for the $100 Entry Fee already paid to the parade organization.
This is a family-friendly parade. No nudity, obscenities, or lewdness will be allowed.
Participants are required to have a minimum of 5 gross of beads per vehicle. A gross is twelve dozen (144 strings of beads). So, a minimum is 720 individual strings. Other items, considered “children’s party favors” may also be thrown to the crowd: wrapped candy and bubble gum, whistles, rubber balls, tiny stuffed animals, gold (plastic) doubloons, etc. All these items are available at retail shops such as Party City. Beads can be ordered online (Amazon, etc.) or be purchased in bulk at ABC Party on West Davis Street.
Participants may NOT hand out business cards, literature, fliers, or anything else that could be discarded by the spectators, becoming litter.
State and local laws banning open alcoholic beverage containers will be enforced, both for participants and spectators.
Cars may be decorated in Mardi Gras livery: purple, gold and green.
Drivers of all vehicles and motorized floats must be able to show proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license at staging.
Additional rules will be provided at a later date.
