The Dallas-area Cars & Coffee has suffered from success. On Oct. 31st, the sponsoring dealership, Classic BMW in Plano, announced an end to their Cars & Coffee. The November and December 2018 events will be their last.
Their Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/events/560423341065726/ ) stated that they never wanted to turn anyone away. But, as their cancellation announcement continued: “the quality of the cars in attendance has declined over the years”. This was due to the fact that too many owners of classic, custom, or exotic cars were turned away because the Cars & Coffee lot was packed full of popular new cars which can be seen at dealerships and too many late-model, poor-quality foreign and domestic every-day (mundane) cars and trucks.
For these last two events (November and December) they will change their policy. At the gate, an official of Cars & Coffee will either accept or deny entry of vehicles based upon uniqueness, beauty, rarity, value and age. This is done to restrict the entry of mundane cars that have over-run the event in the past.
